The original ruling regarding perfumes is permissibility.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling on using spray perfume that contains alcohol, especially women’s perfume, which they apply to the neck and which may reach the throat?

Answer:
Answer: If it is established that it contains alcohol, it is forbidden. Allah, Exalted and Majestic, said regarding intoxicants: “an abomination from the work of Satan, so avoid it.” How can they perfume themselves with it? Allah says: “so avoid it.” It is obligatory to destroy intoxicants. When the prohibition was established, the Companions went out to the casks containing intoxicants in the markets, they cut them open, and the liquid flowed into the streets. It is obligatory to destroy it, and it is not permissible to keep it. However, if this is established—and not just rumors—if it is established, the original ruling regarding perfumes is permissibility, unless it is established that they contain something of alcohol, in which case it is not permissible to use them, because this is using intoxicants.
