The ruling on one who adopts the same kunyah (patronymic) as the Messenger – peace and blessings be upon him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for a person named Muhammad to adopt the kunyah (patronymic) of the Messenger – peace and blessings be upon him, Abu al-Qasim?

Answer:
Answer: Yes, there is nothing wrong with that. After the death of the Messenger – peace and blessings be upon him, there is nothing wrong with it. However, during his lifetime, they should not adopt his kunyah, because this causes confusion; if someone says "O Abu al-Qasim," the Messenger might turn around, even though he is not the one being addressed.
