A pregnant woman who sometimes experiences bleeding and used to fast

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 13928 )
Q: The pregnancy remained in her womb for six months. On the eighth day of the blessed month of Ramadan, she experienced bleeding that did not exceed a teacup. This bleeding came one day after another. On the twenty-eighth day of Ramadan, the fetus was delivered from her womb. The questioner asks: Does she have to make up the days on which she experienced this bleeding? She fasted the days before the fetus was delivered and did not break her fast until she saw the fetus on the day of its delivery. Therefore, we request your guidance, and may Allah preserve you.
A: It is not obligatory for the woman mentioned to make up the fast; because the bleeding mentioned is not menstrual blood or post-natal bleeding. However, if the bleeding occurred one, two, or three days before the delivery of the fetus, accompanied by signs of labor, then it is considered post-natal bleeding, and fasting is not valid with it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
