The ruling on the statement: "A good innovation"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q162: The questioner says: I read in one of the books that there is a good sunnah (recommended practice) and a good bid'ah (religious innovation). Is this correct?
A162: There is no such thing as a good bid'ah (religious innovation); all innovations are misguidance. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
for every novelty is an innovation, and every innovation is an error.فإن كل محدثة بدعة، وكل بدعة ضلالة
Sunan Abi Dawud 4607Sahih (Al-Albani)
. So bid'ah is misguidance, and there is nothing good in misguidance; therefore, such a statement is not correct. All innovations are detestable and rejected.
