Is there a good religious innovation?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding this, O our Shaykh, the bad religious innovation and the good religious innovation, is there a good religious innovation?

The Shaykh : What is it?

The questioner : Is there a good religious innovation?

The Shaykh : You are...

The questioner : Due to the statement of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab...

The Shaykh : You answered with your own words recently, but it did not facilitate for me or for you to continue understanding the topic. Did you forget the occasion when I said about myself that I innovated a good religious innovation!

The questioner : It is completing the salam.

The Shaykh: She?

The questioner : And upon you be peace, and Allah's mercy and blessings, and His forgiveness.

The Shaykh : And His forgiveness, you did well. Adding "and His forgiveness," so I said that this is a good religious innovation that I innovated. Perhaps this statement from me is difficult to understand, given that I constantly sing that every religious innovation is misguidance, relying on the hadiths, among which is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
every innovation is going astray, and every going astray is in the Fire كل بدعة ضلالة وكل ضلالة في النار
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1578Sahih (Darussalam)
But I was surprised that the one who objected to this expression, my expression, immediately interpreted 'Umar's word "this is a blessed religious innovation" by saying that the religious innovation in 'Umar's statement is a linguistic innovation. So what is the reason for the objection then?
The Shaykh : So I followed 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) in saying that this is a good religious innovation. My statement regarding the addition of "and His blessings" in the response to the complete salam, and the addition of "and His forgiveness" in the response to the complete salam, the complete salam which ends with "and His blessings."
The Shaykh : I believe that this is indeed a religious innovation, meaning a new occurrence that did not exist before, a linguistic innovation. So likewise, 'Umar said "this is a blessed religious innovation" regarding the prayer of tarawih. And the prayer of tarawih is not a religious innovation in the sense of a new legal ruling, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed it and encouraged it. For that reason, the scholars said regarding the word of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab "and this is a blessed religious innovation" that he means a linguistic innovation. And so said the one who spoke on that day in the same session. So what is the difference between this and that? What is the difference between 'Umar's statement regarding the prayer of tarawih, which is a recommended practice, "this is a blessed religious innovation," and the one who followed 'Umar in this statement and said regarding the addition of "and His forgiveness": a good religious innovation? What is the difference?
The Shaykh : Both the prayer of tarawih and the addition of "and His blessings."

The questioner : And His forgiveness.

The Shaykh : It is a established recommended practice, and both 'Umar ibn al-Khattab's word in that recommended practice of tarawih "this is a blessed religious innovation" and the statement of this contemporary of yours regarding the addition of "and His forgiveness" that this is a good religious innovation, differ in what meets in a single point of agreement, and both statements are directed at a known recommended practice.
The Shaykh : This is my answer. If there is anything remaining from it, we will hear it, if Allah wills.

The questioner : More than this, it is a recommended practice for the prayer of tarawih, it was in the days of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

The Shaykh : Of course.

The questioner : The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did it, but out of fear that it would become obligatory upon the Muslims, he left it. And also, we do not hear the Muslims saying now, or rarely do they say: "and His forgiveness," but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said it. So they meet. May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware of that.
