Q1: I reside in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah , and I entered the state of ihram from Abi 'Ali for Hajj alone, then I went to Makkah on the evening of the seventh of Dhul-Hijjah and arrived in Makkah . I had with me passengers who were pilgrims from al-Madinah , then I remained working to load passengers from Makkah to Mina , and from Mina to Makkah and so on throughout the eighth day and its evening, and I did not perform the arrival tawaf . Then I stayed overnight in Mina until the morning of the ninth, then I went to 'Arafah with passengers and returned to Mina . Then I went to 'Arafah three times, and before noon I stopped my car near the mosque
of 'Arafah which is in Wadi 'Urnah , then I remained in the front part of the mosque, that is, in Wadi 'Urnah . After the prayer, I went up to the top of the mosque, that is, in 'Arafah , until the sun set. Then I went to the car in Wadi 'Urnah , and I loaded passengers to al-Mash'ar al-Haram . Then I prayed Maghrib and 'Isha in Muzdalifah . Then I went to Makkah in order to put gasoline in the car, then I arrived in Makkah before the 'Isha adhan, and when I heard the 'Isha adhan, I entered one of the mosques in al-'Aziziyah and prayed 'Isha with them in congregation. Then I went to the station and filled the car with gasoline. Then I went from Makkah to 'Arafah , and I transported pilgrims to Muzdalifah , and I arrived at eleven o'clock minus twenty minutes, meaning before midnight, then I stayed overnight in Muzdalifah until the Fajr prayer. After the day had become very bright, I went to Mina . When we arrived in Mina , we found a parking spot near the Jamarat, then I stoned the large pillar with only seven pebbles, then I went to al-Haram and dropped off the pilgrims next to al-Haram . Then I transported pilgrims to Mina . I remained going back and forth from Makkah to Mina and from Mina to Makkah until the twelfth day of Dhul-Hijjah, and I intended to hasten (ta'jil). Then I stoned the three pillars at twelve fifty-five in the afternoon, then I went to Makkah and performed the tawaf al-ifadah and sa'y intending to travel to al-Madinah or to Jeddah according to the facilitations. When I arrived at the location of my car in Gaza near the Haram
al-Sharif , I found passengers who wanted to go to al-'Aziziyah, so I took them. From al-'Aziziyah, I found passengers who wanted Mina , so I took them to Mina . I was still with my intention, that is, to hasten. I found people who wanted al-'Aziziyah, so I took them, and others who wanted Mina . I became doubtful about this matter of mine, so I asked one of the brothers about my hastening and my tawaf, whether it suffices for the farewell tawaf. He told me: The hastening is valid, and you must perform the farewell tawaf shortly before departure. So I stayed overnight in Makkah until the morning of the thirteenth day of Dhul-Hijjah. I went to al-Haram and prayed Friday prayer there, and I performed the farewell tawaf immediately after Friday prayer. Then I traveled directly to al-Madinah and took with me from the side of al-Haram passengers to al-Madinah al-Munawwarah , and I arrived in al-Madinah after Maghrib. I prayed Maghrib and 'Isha in al-Haram al-Nabawi ; I prayed Maghrib alone, and 'Isha with the congregation, and praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. Is there anything wrong with what I did in my Hajj or not?
A1 : The Sunnah is that when you arrived in Makkah from al-Madinah , you should have performed the arrival tawaf, and you did not do that according to the question—so you missed its reward. Your standing at 'Arafah is valid, and so is the overnight stay at Muzdalifah and stoning the Jamarat al-'Aqabah. If you stayed overnight on the night of the eleventh and the night of the twelfth in Mina and stoned the three pillars on the eleventh day after noon, stoning the small one, then the middle one, then the large one, each with seven pebbles, and so on on the twelfth day, then
you went down to Makkah intending to hasten, and you performed tawaf and sa'y with the intention of traveling, and you performed the farewell tawaf on the thirteenth day after Friday prayer, then there is nothing upon you.
