What you intend to sell of houses and lands

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 16378 )
Q1: I have two houses and a piece of land. I live in one of these houses on some days, such as holidays and festivals. The other house is rented out for 200 riyals per month, and sometimes there is no tenant. I acquired the land for seven thousand riyals (7000). If a customer comes for any of these properties, I will sell it. Please clarify how to pay the zakah on them?
A1: As for the houses and lands you intend to sell, when the lunar year of possession is completed, you must appraise them at their market value and pay the zakah on that value. As for any rent you receive, you must pay zakah on the rent when the lunar year of possession is completed for it, starting from the date of the contract.
