Pilots impose a prize that is taken by the one who defeats his opponent

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q96: We sometimes impose a sum of money, a dinner, or refreshments for the one who defeats his opponent during aerial combat training, in order to stimulate enthusiasm among us in the exercises and training in the arts of combat. Is there anything wrong with that?
Vol. 96: It is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
No stake is acceptable except in archery, racing a camel, and racing a horse.لا سبق إلا في نصل أو خف أو حافر
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1700Hasan (Darussalam)
It was narrated by Ahmad and the compilers of the Sunan, and it was authenticated by Ibn Hibban and Ibn al-Qattan and Ibn Daqiq al-Eid , and graded as good by al-Tirmidhi . This hadith may be understood to mean that the most deserving of a prize being offered are these three, due to their perfect benefit and the generality of their public interest. This includes every permissible competition in which there is benefit for the religion. Therefore, training in aerial combat falls under this hadith, and it is permissible to offer a prize for it; because it involves supporting Islam and infuriating the enemies.
