Is the name al-Nasir among the names of Allah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q1: I have a son who is (7) years old, and I named him 'Abd al-Nasir, believing that al-Nasir is one of the names of Allah the Exalted. When I went to the civil registry to report the birth of my daughter, one of the brothers at the civil registry told me that I must change my son's name from 'Abd al-Nasir to another name. Is al-Nasir one of the names of Allah? What is the ruling on naming my son with this name? Is it permissible to name my son Nasir instead of 'Abd al-Nasir?
A1: There is nothing wrong with naming your son (Nasir); because the original ruling regarding names is
permissibility, except for what evidence indicates should be prohibited from being used as a name. As for al-Nasir, there is no evidence, to our knowledge, that it is one of the names of Allah. The names of Allah are based on revelation, and it is not permissible to name Allah except with what He named Himself with or what His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) named Him with.
