Are the names of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) restricted, like the names of Allah the Exalted?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Are the names of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ... .

The Shaykh : What is the name of this older son of yours? Is it Abd al-Rahman? If this son of yours were named Abd al-Aziz, would that be acceptable? So how do we name the Messenger with a name by which he did not name himself or by which he did not describe himself? Describe him with what he deserves of the description, with the prayer and blessings upon him, without exaggeration. But as for you assigning him names from your own mind, that is not correct.

The questioner : Are they limited?

The Shaykh : We do not know what is authentic to name him with and what is not, so you are not obligated by it.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Attributes, and some say names, like the names of Allah, the Forgiving, the Merciful, and the like.
