Forgetting to Recite Aloud
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 15455 )
Q3: In the prayers where recitation is aloud, sometimes I forget to recite aloud in the first rak'ah and remember in the second rak'ah . So, is it obligatory for me to recite aloud in the second rak'ah only, or should I complete the prayer quietly, or should I perform the prostration for forgetfulness, or should I repeat the prayer?
A3 : It is the recommended practice (sunnah) to recite al-Fatihah and whatever Qur'an is recited with it aloud in the first two rak'ahs of Maghrib and 'Isha' and in the Fajr prayer, due to the action of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). However, if you forget to recite aloud in the first rak'ah, recite aloud in the second rak'ah, and you are not required to perform the prostration for forgetfulness for forgetting to recite aloud in the first rak'ah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
