Q 3: Is the Ibrahimi Prayer the most authentic form of sending blessings upon the Prophet? Is there another form for sending blessings upon him, and did the phrase "Indeed You are the Praiseworthy, the Glorious" appear or not?
A 3: The Ibrahimic prayer has specific forms as reported in (the two Sahihs). It is narrated fromKa'b ibn Ujr(may Allah be pleased with him), who said And fromAbu Hurayrah(may Allah be pleased with him), saidal-Bayhaqi: It was narrated byal-Bazzarand its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, and in (Sahih Muslim) it is narrated fromAbu Mas'ud al-Ansari(may Allah be pleased with him) said: And it is established fromAbu Humayd al-Sa'idithat theySahih Muslim 407 and this is the wording ofMuslim, and the Ibrahimic formula is the best, and whoever recites any of the formulas established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has done correctly. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us, and we said: We know how to greet you, but how do we send blessings upon you? He said: (Say: O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed You are the Praiseworthy, the Glorious. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed You are the Praiseworthy, the Glorious)
خرج علينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقلنا: قد عرفنا كيف نسلم عليك فكيف نصلي عليك؟ قال: ( قولوا: اللهم صل على محمد كما صليت على آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد، اللهم بارك على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما باركت على آل إبراهيم، إنك حميد مجيدThat they asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): How do we send blessings upon you? He said: (Say: O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed You are the Praiseworthy, the Glorious)
أنهم يسألون رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: كيف نصلي عليك؟ قال: ( قولوا: اللهم صل على محمد وبارك على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما صليت وباركت على آل إبراهيم، إنك حميد مجيدThe Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us while we were in the gathering of Sa'd ibn Ubadah, and Bashir ibn Sa'd said to him: O Messenger of Allah, Allah the Exalted has commanded us to send blessings upon you, so how do we send blessings upon you? He said; so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent until we wished he had not asked him, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Say: O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim, and send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim in the worlds. Indeed You are the Praiseworthy, the Glorious. And the salam is as you know)
أتانا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ونحن في مجلس سعد بن عبادة ، فقال له بشير بن سعد : أمرنا الله تعالى أن نصلي عليك يا رسول الله، فكيف نصلي عليك؟ قال؛ فسكت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم حتى تمنينا أنه لم يسأله، ثم قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ( قولوا: اللهم صل على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما صليت على آل إبراهيم وبارك على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما باركت على آل إبراهيم في العالمين إنك حميد مجيد والسلام كما قد علمتمThey (the Companions of the Holy Prophet) said: Apostle of Allah, how should we bless you? He (the Holy Prophet) observed: Say:" O Allah! bless Muhammad, his wives and his offspring as Thou didst bless Ibrahim, and grant favours to Muhammad, and his wives and his offspring as Thou didst grant favours to the family of Ibrahim; Thou art Praiseworthy and Glorious."
قالوا: يا رسول الله كيف نصلي عليك؟ قال: ( قولوا: اللهم صل على محمد وعلى آل محمد وعلى أزواجه وذريته كما صليت على آل إبراهيم وبارك على محمد وعلى أزواجه وذريته كما باركت على آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد
