The Sunnah of Reciting Aloud in Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 16294 )
Q: Is it permissible to recite aloud in the Sunnah prayers?
A: It is prescribed to recite quietly in voluntary prayers if they are performed during the day, whereas in voluntary prayers at night, the Sunnah is to recite aloud, provided that one does not annoy those around him;
Because reciting aloud at night is further removed from intrusive thoughts and more invigorating for the reciter. Hudhayfah mentioned that when he stood with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and he recited Surat al-Baqarah, Surat al-Nisa, and Surat Aal 'Imran, he did not pass a verse of mercy without asking for it, nor a verse of punishment without seeking refuge, and this indicates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited aloud in the voluntary night prayer. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
