Wiping over leather socks without an excuse of cold or illness
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 16123 )
Q 2: Is it permissible to wipe over leather socks without an excuse , meaning there is no cold or illness, but the person is unable to remove the socks and so wipes over them?
A 2: It is permissible to wipe over leather socks if they cover the feet
and the heels, and if they were put on while in a state of complete ritual purity, even if there is no cold. The duration of wiping is one day and one night for a resident, starting from the first wipe after a state of ritual impurity, and three days and their nights for a traveler. And Allah knows best. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
