What is the ruling on using the miswak while the imam is delivering the Friday sermon?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on using the miswak while the imam is delivering the Friday sermon?

The Shaykh : Using the miswak while the imam is delivering the Friday sermon, if it is for a need, such as if drowsiness begins to overcome him and he uses the miswak to drive away the drowsiness, then that is good and intended for good.
And if it is to change the smell of the mouth, such as if the smell becomes worse due to his silence and he uses the miswak to remove the bad odor, then there is no blame on him.
In all other cases, he should not use the miswak, because this distracts him from listening to the sermon, and it may also distract others who are looking at him.
