Q 2: The supervisors of the Qur'an memorization classes at the Al-Khayriyyah School award encouraging prizes to the participating students, which consist of religious tapes or mushafs (copies of the Qur'an), with the aim of encouraging and urging them to memorize. What is the ruling on these prizes? It is known that some say that their presence causes students to memorize in order to obtain them, which leads to the corruption of the sincerity of intention for the sake of Allah? Please issue a ruling, may you be rewarded, and may Allah reward you with the best reward.
A 2: There is no harm in awarding cash prizes to encourage students to memorize the Book of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He). The students should be directed to be sincere in their intention for the sake of Allah in memorizing the Qur'an, and the prizes should follow as a consequence and not be the intended purpose of the memorization. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
