A person has died; some people say: So-and-so, the deceased, has passed away

The third question of Fatwa No. ( 21121 )
Q 3: If a person dies, some people say: So-and-so, the deceased, has passed away, or So-and-so, may Allah forgive him, has passed away, and so on. Is this permissible, and what is its ruling?
A 3 : It is better to say about a deceased Muslim: (May Allah have mercy on him, may Allah forgive him), as a form of supplication for his forgiveness and mercy. This is prescribed. One should not say: (the deceased, or may Allah forgive him), because this means asserting for him forgiveness and mercy. We do not assert this for anyone except with evidence from the Book and the Sunnah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
