The first question of Fatwa No. ( 19620 )
Q 1: I often see scraps of newspapers and magazines in the streets and roads, and when I look through them, I find the Name of Allah or verses from the Qur'an. Is it obligatory for me, when I see those newspapers and magazines, to stop while I am driving my car and collect those scraps?
A 1 : If you see any of the papers thrown in the streets or elsewhere that contain the mention of Allah, or something from the Qur'an, it is obligatory for you to take it and lift it from the place of humiliation to a clean, protected place, or to burn it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
