Looking at pictures of women in newspapers
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 2424 )
Q2: Does looking at pictures of women in newspapers and magazines carry the same ruling as looking at them in the street or in a house?
A2: Looking at a woman’s picture in newspapers and the like is a means to taking pleasure in it, knowing the person in the picture, and knowing her beauty. This may become a means to obtaining her, so it is forbidden; because means carry the ruling of their ends. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
