The fifth question of the fatwa number ( 19219 )
Q 5: Does the earth consume the bodies of the prophets?
A 5: Allah has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the prophets and messengers, so they remain as they are, and they are alive in their graves with the life of the barzakh (the interval between death and resurrection), of which Allah knows its nature, and it is not like their life in this world, and their souls are in Paradise, and so are the souls of the believers and the soul of our Prophet Muhammad in the highest company in Paradise; for what Imam Ahmad narrated in (his Musnad, vol. 4, p. 8) from Aws ibn Abi
Aws which is mentioned at the end:Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 4:14 and it was narrated by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah in their (Sunan) with similar wording on a sound chain. And despite all of this, it is not permissible to make du'a' to them, nor to seek aid or assistance from them, nor to make vows to them; rather, all of that is shirk (associating partners with Allah); because of the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-Jinn 72:18], and His saying, Glorified is He: [Al-Mu'minun 23:117], and His saying, Mighty and Majestic: [Fatir 35:13-14], and these noble verses and what has come in their meaning from verses and hadiths - encompass the prophets, the righteous, the angels, and others, and the people of the Sunnah and the community, from the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), have agreed
and their followers with excellence, have agreed on the prohibition of that. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.

Indeed, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the prophets, may the prayers of Allah be upon them
إن الله عز وجل حرم على الأرض أن تأكل أجساد الأنبياء صلوات الله عليهمAnd [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone.
وَأَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلا تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدًاAnd whoever invokes besides Allah another deity for which he has no proof - then his account is only with his Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will not succeed.
That is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs sovereignty. And those whom you invoke other than Him do not possess [as much as] the membrane of a date seed. (14) If you invoke them, they do not hear your supplication; and if they heard, they would not respond to you. And on the Day of Resurrection they will deny your association. And none can inform you like [one] Acquainted [with all matters].
ذَلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَالَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ مَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْ قِطْمِيرٍ (13) إِنْ تَدْعُوهُمْ لاَ يَسْمَعُوا دُعَاءَكُمْ وَلَوْ سَمِعُوا مَا اسْتَجَابُوا لَكُمْ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَكْفُرُونَ بِشِرْكِكُمْ وَلاَ يُنَبِّئُكَ مِثْلُ خَبِيرٍand their followers with excellence, have agreed on the prohibition of that.
