Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 17458 )
Q 1: Some of the beliefs in our country are that Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) was one of those who ascribe a body to Allah, and that he affirmed for Allah the Exalted a body like that of a human being, and that Shaykh al-Islam Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab (may Allah have mercy on him) was one of the corrupters rather than the reformers, and that he corrupted the lands of the Arabs, and that he was a misguiding misleader — may Allah protect us from that — and we are sending you two magazines, namely (Nur al-Yaqin and al-Fajr al-Sadiq), for you to look at.
certainty, and the true dawn) so that you may look.

A 1: Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Shaykh al-Islam Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab are both among the renewers of what had been lost of the markers of Islam in light of the Book and the Sunnah, and they are among the scholars of the people of the Sunnah and the community, and they are reformers, not corrupters, and they are among those who affirm for Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, His names and attributes that are mentioned in the Noble Qur'an and in the authentic Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the manner befitting Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He. Whoever claims that Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah is one who ascribes a body to Allah is a compound ignoramus who does not know the creed of the people of the Sunnah and the community, and likewise whoever claims that the Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab is a corrupter and not a reformer is a compound ignoramus who did not know his creed or what he called to of pure tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and sound creed that corresponds to the creed of the people of the Sunnah and the community. May Allah have mercy on him and on Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and on all the imams of the Muslims. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
