The second question of Fatwa No. ( 17521 )
Q 2: What is the ruling on Ibn Sayyad, and is he the Dajjal? And why did not the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) inform us whether he is the Dajjal or not?
A 2: 'Abdullah ibn Sayyad appeared during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and some of the Companions thought he was the Dajjal. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) held back regarding his matter until it became clear to him later that he was not the Dajjal, but rather he was of the kind of fortune-tellers. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: meaning: You are only one of the brothers of the fortune-tellers. The fortune-tellers used to have a companion from among the jinn who would inform them of many hidden matters by stealing from the hearing, and they used to mix
truth with lies, as in the authentic hadith narrated by al-Bukhari and others, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Mishkat al-Masabih 4594 . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

I have kept a hidden thing for you. He said: The smoke. And his hidden thing was Surat al-Dukhan. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Be gone, for you will not exceed your rank.
لقد خبأت لك خبأ قال: الدخ، وكان خبأ له سورة الدخان. فقال له النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: اخسأ فلن تعدو قدركtruth with lies, as in the authentic hadith narrated by al-Bukhari and others, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The angels descend in al-’anan , i e. the clouds, and mention a matter which has been decreed in heaven, then the devils listening by stealth and hearing it communicate it to the kahins who tell along with it a hundred lies of their own making.
إن الملائكة تنزل في العنان وهو السحاب، فتذكر الأمر قضي في السماء، فتسترق الشياطين السمع، فتوحيه إلى الكهان فيكذبون معها مائة كذبة من عند أنفسهم
