Fatwa No. ( 17404 )
Praise be to Allah alone, and may peace and blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet. And after: The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta has reviewed what was sent to His Eminence the Grand Mufti from the Director of the Shibirmah Middle and Secondary School, and referred to the Committee by the General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars, with number (2648) and date 26 \ 6 \ 1415 AH. The questioner asked a question, the text of which is as follows: We have recently noticed the spread of the attached pamphlet, a copy of which is enclosed, under the title (The Muhammadian Card), which reads: Name: Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib. And since we doubt the expressions it contains, such as: the title, the religion, that he is the first of the Muslims, the number of prophets, the blood type, the nationality, the registrar Jibril, and the approval from Allah, and the like. We hope that Your Eminence will take what you deem appropriate, and inform us of what is required regarding it, so that we may inform the students of its permissibility or impermissibility. If it is not permissible to circulate it, we hope you will notify the competent authorities thereof. May Allah preserve you and grant you His help and success.

After the Committee studied the inquiry, and after reviewing, reading, and reflecting upon this card, it responded as follows: This card called (The Muhammadian Card) is not permissible to approve, nor to buy or sell, nor to promote; and it must be destroyed; because of the religious prohibitions it contains, which are not befitting Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), nor befitting His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), nor befitting Jibril (peace be upon him), and because it is a means to exaggeration regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and to using it as an amulet hung on children and others to seek blessing from it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
