Ruling on Imitating Disbelievers in Haircuts
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 11610 )
Q 2: What is the ruling on the haircuts that some young people are doing now, which imitate that disbeliever (Michael)? And if one of them does it without intending to imitate him, what is the consequence?
A 2: The Shari'ah has come with the prohibition of imitating the disbelievers and warning against imitating them or resembling them in clothing, customs, or morals, because of the influence they have on one, the inclination toward them, and the love for them. This is forbidden, so it is not permissible to do haircuts like the (Michael) haircut, even if one does not intend to imitate him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
