Leading the people in prayer while his soul whispers to him that his work is showing off
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of the fatwa number ( 18438 )
Q 2: I am a man who sometimes leads people in prayer as an imam, and sometimes delivers the Friday sermon, but my self sometimes comes to me and says: You are seeking showing off in this work , and you want fame, and you want elevation and status among people, until I refuse to deliver the sermon and refuse to lead the prayer.
A 2: We advise you to continue leading the prayer and delivering the Friday sermon; because it is an act of obedience, and do not pay attention to the whispers of Satan and his discouraging you from this work under the pretext of fear of showing off, and you must perform the obedience and sincerity for Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan, and from these discouraging whispers from good, and Allah will help you. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
