If a woman is fasting to make up a missed day or fulfilling an obligatory fast, and then her period starts and she breaks her fast, and after she becomes pure she fasts for one day, and then her period returns, is her fast for that day valid?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : She says: If a woman is fasting to make up a missed day or fulfilling an obligatory fast at its proper time, and then her monthly period starts and she breaks her fast, and after she becomes pure she resumes fasting, and then after one day of fasting her period returns and she breaks her fast, is the fast for that day valid, or is she required to make it up?

The Shaykh : As long as this woman saw purity before she fasted that day, and she fasted that day while being certain of her purity, then the fast for that day is valid. This is because cleanliness is purity, and the ruling is contingent upon menstruation. So whenever menstruation is present, its rulings apply, and whenever she becomes pure, its rulings cease. Yes.
