Purposeful plays for guidance

Q: In the celebrations and seminars held at summer centers, Islamic library halls, and other such venues, which are run by some upright young Muslims who follow the methodology of Allah, if Allah wills, some realistic or historical plays are staged as part of the programs. These plays have a noble Islamic goal, which is to raise the awareness of Muslim youth about their reality and what is happening around them, as well as the plots hatched against Islam and Muslims by their enemies. They also aim to introduce youth to the truth of their Islamic history, and the correct uprightness and serious application of the Islamic methodology that our righteous predecessors (Salaf) adhered to, and the fruits they reaped as a result, which led to brilliant victories, dominance over the disbelievers, and the realization and application of Allah’s methodology throughout the world, after the entire world had submitted to them. However, in these plays, the youth often portray the characters of those enemies and their roles. For example, if the play depicts a Masonic Zionist conference or gathering where its members plot to destroy Islam, and perhaps some of them utter a word of disbelief, this is a depiction of the reality of those meetings and conferences, as if it were seen with the naked eye, so that the truth becomes clear to the attendees as if they are witnessing it. The truth cannot be clarified and the desired goal of these plays achieved except by doing so. Therefore, after understanding the reality and taking into consideration the intended goal of these plays, please clarify the ruling on this. Is the goal a justification for imitating the disbelievers, or for speaking words of disbelief in jest? I ask for clarification and detail to the extent possible.

A: If those plays that depict a Masonic Zionist conference or gathering where its members plot to destroy Islam include what was mentioned, namely that some of those portraying them utter a word of disbelief or similar evil, in order to depict the reality of that conference or gathering as if it were being witnessed, seen with the naked eye, so that its truth becomes clear to the attendees—then the play or acting in this manner is not permissible; rather, it is evil, even if the intention is to achieve the desired goal of that acting. Explaining the truth, exposing the reality of the conspirators’ plots, and clarifying their objective and their schemes against Islam and Muslims does not depend on that acting and those plays. On the contrary, it is entirely easy to do so without these evil means. There is no necessity for them, given the abundance of means for explanation, establishing the argument, refuting falsehood, and exposing what the enemies of Islam plot against Muslims and working to thwart it. Accordingly, that good goal is not a justification for imitating those disbelievers through acting and staging those plays, nor for speaking evil words, such as a word of disbelief, even in jest or with good intention; because the intended purpose can be reached without this means.
