Fatwa No. ( 20072 )
Q: Is it permissible for a man to respond to his mother while he is in prayer, whether it is an obligatory or voluntary prayer?
A: If a person begins a prayer, and it is an obligatory prayer, it is not permissible for him to break it in order to respond to his mother or his father. However, if the prayer is voluntary, it is permissible for him
to break it in order to respond to his parents, if there is a need for it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
