Al-Ghawth and al-Qutb al-'Amud

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of the fatwa number ( 20530 )
Q 4: The sources mention the names (Ghawth) and (Qutb) and (al-'Amud)... etc., and the name (Ghawth) occupies the highest rank in this hierarchy, while the lowest is occupied by the Qutb and al-'Amud... etc. These people gather during the days of Hajj and plan for the activities of the coming year, and even our master Ilyas (peace be upon him) attends these meetings. Studies indicate that the Jews of a town named Salamiyah (located in Iraq ) established a secret society in the year (70) before Christ, in order to reclaim land occupied by the Zoroastrians, except that there is
no mention of these persons (Ghayth) and (Qutb)... etc. in any of the Islamic sources until the year 800 AH, but these names reappeared in the books from that date. We believe that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) created the angels in great numbers to carry out His commands, as we know that there are four great noble angels distinguished by the specific work of each of them when Allah created the angels. Is there still a need for the Ghawth and the Qutb... etc., and they are all from the perishable humans?

A 4: It is not permissible to believe that any of the created beings has control and management in the universe with Allah the Exalted, whether that created being is called Ghawth or Qutb... etc., and whoever believes any of that is a disbeliever who associates partners with Allah. And what the Sufis and others mention about the gathering of the Qutbs and Ilyas and al-Khidr and others, all of that is invalid, a myth, and misguidance, and it is from the deception of Satan upon them; we seek refuge in Allah from misguidance and its people. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
