The first and second questions of Fatwa No. ( 17864 )
Q1: Regarding the remembrances of the day and the night, is it obligatory for the Muslim to perform all of them, or does he perform one at a time and another at another time? For example: the remembrance: "Subhan Allahi wa bihamdih" (Glory be to Allah and His praise) one hundred times, and "La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah" (There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner) one hundred times, and "Subhan Allahi wa bihamdih" (Glory be to Allah and His praise) as many as the number of His creation, and so on. Are these recited every day, or one after the other? And so with the remaining remembrances, which are of two types: remembrances of the same type in wording or formulation, and another type that differs from the first. How is the remembrance performed according to the Sunnah? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
A1: The principle is that the Muslim should recite all the transmitted remembrances in a specific number in the morning and evening, according to what the evidence indicates. If he increases beyond this number of a particular remembrance, it is a good remembrance with no harm in it.
Q2: The issue of reciting Surat al-Sajdah and Surat al-Mulk before sleeping : Is it established to be consistent in doing so, or is it otherwise?
A2: Yes, it is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not sleep until he recited: and [Al-Mulk 67:1], but its chain of narration is weak, as in (Musnad Ahmad). It was narrated to us by Abdullah , who said: My father narrated to us, who said: Aswad ibn 'Amir narrated to us,
Aswad ibn 'Amir , he narrated to us from Hasan ibn Salih , from Layth , from Abu al-Zubayr , from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 50:3, it was narrated by al-Tirmidhi , and its chain is weak as previously mentioned; because in its chain is Layth ibn Abi Sulaym , and he is weak; and because in its chain is also Abu al-Zubayr al-Makki , from Jabir , and he is a mudallis, and he used to summarize his narrations. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

Alif Lam (1) The revelation
الم (1) تَنْـزِيلُBlessed is He in whose hand is dominion
تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُAswad ibn 'Amir , he narrated to us from Hasan ibn Salih , from Layth , from Abu al-Zubayr , from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, did not sleep until he had recited, 'Alif-Lam-Mim. The Sending-down' (32) and 'Blessed is the One in whose hand the kingdom is' (67).
كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لا ينام حتى يقرأ: الم (1) تَنْـزِيلُ السـجدة، و تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ
