The fourth question of the fatwa numbered ( 17164 )
Q4: Is it true: the prayer of one who lets his garment hang below the ankles is not valid, and what is the evidence ?
A4: The prayer of one who lets his garment hang below the ankles is valid, and he is sinful for letting it hang below the ankles in his prayer and outside his prayer. As for the hadith reported regarding the non-acceptance of the prayer of one who lets his garment hang below the ankles, it is weak. And in this regard, the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was reported:Sunan Abi Dawud 637Sahih (Al-Albani) It was narrated by Abu Dawud from the hadith of Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) with a sound chain. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
