Making dolls in the form of children's toys

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 14765 )
Q: May Allah reward you with good for informing you that my sister is helping one of the charitable organizations that assist the needy by making dolls in the form of pictures of children, cats, and dogs. I mean those dolls on which those pictures are drawn, and they are made of cloth. My sister stuffs those dolls with cotton so that they look like a doll and a toy. Knowing that a quarter of those toys goes back to the needy, what is your opinion and what is the ruling on that?
A: Depicting beings with souls, whether from among the children of Adam or others, is among the major sins; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the image-makers and informed that they are the most severely punished of people on the Day of Resurrection. So it is obligatory for your sister to leave that and repent to Allah
from what has passed, and to destroy the images she has, and whoever repents, Allah accepts his repentance; for the saying of Allah the Exalted:
But indeed, I am the Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues in guidance.وَإِنِّي لَغَفَّارٌ لِمَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدَى
[Taha 20:82]
, and His saying the Mighty and Majestic:
And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.وَتُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا أَيُّهَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
[An-Nur 24:31]
and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
The one who repents from sin is like one who did not sin.التائب من الذنب كمن لا ذنب له
Sunan Ibn Majah 4250Da’if (Darussalam)
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
