Are girls' dolls among the prohibited images?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Girls' dolls?

Answer:
There is a difference of opinion among the scholars: some considered them permissible; because it was found that Aisha had dolls, as in the authentic hadith, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would send her his daughters, and she had some images with her.
Al-Qadi Iyad reported from the majority that it is permissible to have images of young girls to teach the girls—and these are the dolls. Others said that the prohibition covers them, and that what Aisha did was before the prohibition, and that after the prohibition, even the dolls are prohibited, including images of young girls that the girls learn from. This is the most cautious approach if it is feasible to prohibit that, and that special images be made for them of the kind that used to be made previously, images that are not depicted, such as having sewing pieces or bones on which clothes are placed, or sticks, or the like, for their girls, not depicted in an ugly, abhorrent manner. We ask Allah for safety. The most cautious course is to leave this, and the disagreement on this is well known.
