Q: Are the Christian sects existing in our present time considered from the People of the Book, whose women our religion permits us to marry?
A: Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, has permitted the food of those who were given the Scripture, namely the Jews and the Christians, and He has permitted marriage to the chaste women among them, as He, the Exalted, said:[Al-Ma'idah 5:5]
At a time when the Jews and Christians are saying what Allah reported about them in His saying:[At-Tawbah 9:30] There is no difference in the ruling between those who were upon their Judaism or Christianity when the Qur'an was revealed and those who have claimed it until the Day of Resurrection, as is known from the generality of rulings, unless specified by a specifier from the Wise Lawgiver. There is no specifier here, so it is permissible for a Muslim to marry chaste women from the People of the Book, as a group of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) did, especially at a time when Islam is high and the influence of husbands over wives and of parents over children is dominant. However, a Muslim should seek goodness and benefit for his religion in the woman he marries, in accordance with his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan Ibn Majah 1858Sahih (Darussalam) and he should avoid one in whom he expects harm or danger to his religion or his offspring, such as women from the People of the Book, especially in our present time when the influence of non-Muslim wives over Muslim husbands and their offspring is dominant.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

A: Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, has permitted the food of those who were given the Scripture, namely the Jews and the Christians, and He has permitted marriage to the chaste women among them, as He, the Exalted, said:
This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. And [lawful in marriage are] chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you

The Jews say, "Ezra is the son of Allah "; and the Christians say, "The Messiah is the son of Allah." That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved [before them]. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?
