Is it permissible to give zakah to a Christian?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He asks: Is it permissible to give zakah to a Christian? The word "Christian"?

The Shaykh : A Christian means a Christian (Nasrani); he is a disbeliever, just like the Jew, the communist, and the Buddhist. However, he and the Jew are from the People of the Book. They differ from the rest of the disbelievers in that they are People of the Book, but they are disbelievers by the explicit text of the Qur'an:
They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary لقد كفر الذين قالوا إن الله هو المسيح ابن مريم
[Al-Ma'idah 5:17]
They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the third of three." لقد كفر الذين قالوا إن الله ثالث ثلاثة
[Al-Ma'idah 5:73]
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us, indeed he swore, that no one from the Jews or the Christians will hear of him and then not believe in him and follow him, except that he will be among the companions of the Fire. So the Christian is not given from the zakah because he is a disbeliever. Yes.
