Exposure to Trials

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The seventh question of Fatwa No. ( 18452 )
Q 7: If I am exposed to many trials from the fiancé, the family, friends, and studies all at once, and the trials are severe and I feel a change, does this mean that I have become uncommitted?
A 7: The harm and calamities that befall a Muslim in this world are a source of reward
for him if he is patient and seeks reward from Allah. It was narrated from Abu Sa'id and Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that.ما يصيب المسلم من نصب ولا وصب ولا هم ولا حزن ولا أذى ولا غم حتى الشوكة يشاكها إلا كفر الله بها من خطاياه
Sahih al-Bukhari 5641, 5642
Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. "Al-Wasab" means illness. It is obligatory for the Muslim to be patient with the divine decree of Allah the Exalted, to treat people with good character, and not to be deceived by trials and calamities, nor to weaken in the face of them, for this is part of the firmness of religion and the strength of faith. But whoever is shaken by calamities and trials, his faith decreases by the amount that happened to him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
