Traveling to a second country for work and a decrease in one's righteous deeds
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 12196 )
Q: I decreased in righteous deeds when I moved to the second country ; because I did not hear a sermon or a lesson in religion, due to my distance from the city. If I left this job, I would not find another, so I was compelled to work in this job given my difficult circumstances and financial situation. I have decided that once my financial situation improves and my debts are paid off, I will return to my country and repent to Allah.
A: If the job mentioned occupies you from the obligatory acts, then there is no good in it, and it is not permissible for you to continue in a job that prevents you from the obligatory duties. If the neglect is in the voluntary acts of worship, then strive to perform as much of them as you are able, and you owe nothing.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
