Perfumes imported from Europe

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 3426 )
Q2: Are perfumes imported from Europe that contain a percentage of alcohol impure in themselves, like intoxicants, meaning that it is forbidden to use them for perfumery?
A2: There is a disagreement among scholars regarding the impurity of perfumes containing a percentage of alcohol that intoxicates in large quantities, based on the disagreement over the impurity or purity of intoxicants. Whoever rules that intoxicants are impure affirms the impurity of these perfumes, and whoever says that intoxicants are pure says that these perfumes are pure. In any case, it is not permissible to use perfumes that contain alcohol, whether we hold that intoxicants are impure or pure; because it is obligatory to destroy intoxicants and not benefit from them, and the ruling on perfumes
that contain alcohol which intoxicates in large quantities is the same as the ruling on intoxicants. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
