Using vinegar mixed with alcohol in food

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 18644 )
Q3: What is the ruling on using vinegar mixed with alcohol for food ?
And what is the ruling on treating with alcohol ?

A3: It is not permissible to use vinegar mixed with alcohol that intoxicates in large quantities; because intoxicating alcohol is khamr (intoxicants), and Allah has commanded the avoidance of khamr. It is not permissible to treat with intoxicating alcohol; because when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about khamr prepared as medicine, he said:
It is a disease and not a medicineإنها داء وليست بدواء
Sunan ad-Daraqutni 27:88
, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whatever a lot of it intoxicates, a little of it is unlawful.ما أسكر كثيره فقليله حرام
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1865Hasan (Darussalam)
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
