If menstruation stops due to a known cause, the waiting period remains until it returns

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 14098 )
Q: I ama woman who is 24 years old, and I have been divorced from my husband. I have a nursing son who is 60 days old, and I am required to observe the waiting period of three menstrual cycles according to the Shari'ah.Since I usually do not menstruate until after completing breastfeeding, that is, after at least two years, and a proposal has been made to me and I want to bind myself to a husband, but I have not been able to do so because my menstruation has not come, and I fear that the authorized marriage officer will require me to swear an oath regarding the three menstrual cycles that are obligatory for a menstruating woman. I am confused about my situation, so I ask for your guidance, as I am postponing marriage until after the end of breastfeeding, and I hope this will be resolved as soon as possible. May Allah preserve you. .
A: First: If you were divorced before the birth, then it is permissible for you to marry, because the waiting period from the divorce ended with the birth.
Second: If your divorce occurred after the birth, then it is obligatory for you to observe a waiting period of three menstrual cycles. If the blood stops due to breastfeeding, it is obligatory for you to wait until menstruation returns, and then observe the waiting period with it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
