Drinking alcohol and serving it to his companions on the day of the contract: Does this affect the validity of the contract?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 102 )
Q6: If a man drinks alcohol and serves it to some of his companions on the day of his marriage contract, does that affect the marriage contract, and if that was on the day of the contract and the days following it, and the mu'adhdhin was aware of the drinker’s condition?
A6: If the contract was concluded by the contracting parties while they were intoxicated,
it is invalid. If it was concluded while they were not intoxicated, it is valid. However, this act is a denial of Allah’s blessing and a response to His grace with disobedience. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
