The fifth question of the fatwa number ( 21041 )
Q5: My father is married to a second woman who is not my mother. Is it permissible for me to greet the mother of my father’s wife?
A5: She is not considered a mahram (a relative one may not marry) to the mother of your father’s wife, because you are a stranger to her. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
