The limit of a woman's garment and whether she must cover her feet?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 13517 )
Q: What is the limit of a woman's garment? We have heard them say that it must cover her feet. Is this correct, and does this ruling apply to the garment specifically for working in the house, known as the shirt?
A: It is obligatory for a woman to cover all parts of her body when
leaving her house, and she may go out wearing a niqab; because a woman is an awrah, and if she goes out, Satan will desire to look at her. As for in the house, she is not required to cover her feet if there are no non-mahram men present with her. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
