The ruling on a woman covering her feet in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A message reached us from the Eastern Region, sent by one of the sisters there (N.S.A). She asks: What is the ruling on covering the feet during prayer? And does exposing them affect the validity of the prayer or not?
Answer: Yes, yes. It is obligatory for the woman to cover her feet in prayer according to the majority of the scholars. There is a report in Abu Dawud regarding this, in which some narrators traced it back to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and others stopped it at Umm Salimah (may Allah be pleased with her). She was asked about a woman covering her feet in prayer, and she said: ... The questioner said:
Is it sufficient for a woman to pray in a thobe and a khimar? Umm Salimah said: Yes, if the thobe is long enough to cover the backs of her feet.هل يجزيء المرأة أن تصلي في درع وخمار؟ فقالت أم سلمة: نعم، إذا كان الدرع سابغاً يغطي ظهور قدميها
, and in a narration, she attributed that to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
The point is that the woman must cover her feet, either by letting her long garments hang down or by wearing socks. She is not permitted to pray with her feet exposed; rather, her garments must be long and covering, or she must be wearing socks. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
