Hijab from those with whom marriage is temporarily prohibited
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 6497 )
Q5: Is it permissible for a Muslim woman to uncover her face and hands in front of temporary mahrams, and what are the reasons for which uncovering is permissible?
A5: Mahrams who are temporarily prohibited from marriage—such as a man in relation to his brother’s wife—are like non-mahrams; it is not permissible to uncover the face and hands for them. A woman is granted a dispensation to uncover her awrah to a doctor if she is compelled to do so, limited to what is necessary. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
