Preventing Daughters from Inheritance
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 2514 )
Q6: Some people prevent their daughter from inheriting, fearing that the person who marries their daughter will take her share of their wealth. Is this permissible?
A6: Allah the Exalted has specified the heirs and the share of each of them in Surat al-Nisa, and among these heirs are daughters. He commanded giving every person who has a right their right, and He concluded the first verses of inheritance with His saying:
[An-Nisa 4:13-14] , and He concluded the last verse of the chapter with His saying: [An-Nisa 4:176] . Therefore, whoever deprives a daughter or anyone else of the right that Allah has assigned to her, without her consent and without her being pleased with it, has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), followed his own desires, and been overcome by the detested tribalism and the pre-Islamic age of ignorance. His abode will be Hellfire unless he repents and pays the rights to their owners. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

(13) These are the limits [set by] Allah, and whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will be admitted by Him to gardens [in Paradise] under which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein; and that is the great attainment. (14) And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits - He will put him into the Fire to abide eternally therein, and he will have a humiliating punishment.
Allah makes clear to you [His law], lest you go astray. And Allah is Knowing of all things.
