Concealing the loss of virginity due to an accident from the husband
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 9402 )
Q1: A Muslim woman was involved in an incident in childhood that caused her to lose her hymen. Her marriage contract has been concluded, but consummation has not yet taken place. In another case, a woman was involved in the same incident, and now committed brothers are proposing to her for marriage. Both are confused about which is better: should the married woman inform her husband before consummation, or should she conceal this news? And should the unmarried woman conceal this matter for fear that it will spread about her and people will think ill of her, given that this happened in childhood when she was not yet accountable? Or is this considered deception and betrayal? Should she inform the one who proposed to her or not, for the sake of the contract?
A1: There is no religious objection to concealing it. Then, if he asks her after consummation, she should inform him of the truth. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
