Hair Beautification

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 16916 )
Q1: I am a married young woman who wishes to beautify my hair for my husband and my mahrams (close relatives) only. Is it permissible for me to dye it or apply the types of cosmetics used these days? I do not wish the dye to be red. Is this forbidden?
A1: There is nothing wrong with a woman grooming her head by washing and combing it, and applying substances that improve the hair. If there is gray hair or a disfiguring color, it should be dyed with a color other than black. However, if the color is normal and there is no gray hair or disfigurement, it should not be dyed with anything that changes its original color, because that is deception and altering the creation.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
