Agency in the Sale of Gold

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 11053 )
Q: Is it permissible for me to take a small amount of used gold from one of
my friends or relatives and sell it on his behalf
in the gold market, on the grounds that I am from the gold trade and know its prices, so that it is sold at the price it deserves and its value is not diminished? Does this hadith apply to me, in its meaning: (Do not sell to the resident on behalf of the Bedouin; let people be, for Allah provides for some of them from others)? Likewise, regarding buying, is it permissible to buy on behalf of a friend or relative, so that I buy for him at a suitable price? I do all of this without compensation, seeking the reward from Allah, the Exalted.

A: It is permissible for you to take gold from your friend and sell it on his behalf. This is not the selling by a resident on behalf of a Bedouin that is prohibited; rather, it is a matter of doing good to your brother, advising him, and fulfilling his need. The same applies to buying for him.
