Spending the interest on the poor

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 19585 )
Q: A man has a sum of money and wants to deposit it in any of the banks. He knows that the bank will give him a certain amount of interest, but the man knows that the excess amount is interest and forbidden. If he leaves it, the bank will take it and benefit from the interest. Is it permissible for him to take the interest and give it to poor families without seeking any reward, only so that the families benefit from the money, because they are in dire need of money, instead of the bank benefiting from it?
A: It is not permissible to deposit money in interest-based banks with the intention of taking the interest for any purpose; because Allah has forbidden interest and threatened with the most severe threat for it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who eats it, the one who gives it, the two witnesses, and the scribe. Therefore, it is not permissible to take it with the intention of giving it in charity; because it is forbidden and impure earnings, and Allah is Pure and does not accept anything but what is pure.
